Job summary

Traffic Group Australia seeks an experienced Operations Manager in Mackay to oversee day-to-day traffic operations, mentor field staff, and drive safety compliance. The role includes inductions, training delivery, and ongoing client coordination within a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates will have supervisory experience, strong leadership, and a solid traffic management background, with willingness to travel and align with WHS standards across projects in Australia.

Qualifications

• Current Traffic Control tickets/licences required.
• Driver’s Licence and reliable transport.
• Ability to pass Drug & Alcohol screening and FCE.
• Supervisory experience preferred.

• Lead, mentor, and support Traffic Controllers and field staff.
• Conduct inductions, onboarding, and site orientations for new hires.
• Deliver training and coaching to Traffic Controllers.
• Conduct Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE) and Drug & Alcohol screening processes.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, WHS requirements, and traffic regulations.
• Assist with rostering, workforce planning, and operational reporting.
• Maintain strong communication with clients, crews, and management teams.

Key Responsibilities

About You

• Previous experience in Traffic Management operations or supervision
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Ability to work autonomously and lead teams effectively
• Confident conducting training, onboarding, and compliance activities
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Flexible and willing to travel when required
• Strong understanding of safety and operational procedures
