Job summary

Merivale's Queens Hotel in Sydney's precinct seeks an experienced Operations Manager to lead all venues within the Queens Precinct. You will be the face of this iconic space, driving an exceptional guest experience across food, beverage, retail, and operations, with accountability for budget, safety, and compliance.

You will recruit and develop talent, align with stakeholders, and push product development while upholding WHS standards.

Qualifications

• Strong background in licensee and compliance.
• Experience in large-scale or multi-site venues.
• Hospitality background with WHS and regulatory knowledge.
• Commercially astute people manager with leadership experience.

Home to Chinese restaurant, Queen Chow Enmore, multiple bar areas and a bottle shop, Queens Hotel has your plans sorted for a night out. Start off with afternoon drinks in our downstairs main bar: we have a host of great beers (old and new) to choose from and plenty of great wine.

Then grab a seat upstairs for modern-Cantonese, care of Queen Chow Enmore or order from our a la carte menu downstairs.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager who will take the reins of all areas at within the Queens Precinct You will be the face of this iconic space and drive an exceptional experience for our guests.

This rare opportunity will see you driving on of our biggest precincts reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Delivery of the venue budget, objectives, and deliverables;
• Drive agreed financial focuses with the team, and cascade consistent messages and targets;
• Deliver quality guest experience through carefully curated food, beverages, retail, operations, and ambiance;
• Drive innovation in venue (group) direction and product development;
• Exhibit and maintain an elite level of leadership across all areas of the business;
• Drive cohesion and performance between the venue team and other business stakeholders to deliver results;
• Support, develop and drive asset protection and risk mitigation strategies including but not limited to food safety, licensing and regulatory compliance;
• Recruit, induct and retain key talent;
• Partner effectively with key community stakeholders.

Who Are You

You will be a passionate and driven leader and one who can adapt to varied service styles, clientele, and offerings in one location while also being community focussed.

To be successful in this role you will:

• A strong background in licensee and compliance
• Have previously worked within a similar role within a large scale or multi-site venue and understand complex environments.
• A hospitality background with knowledge across Work Health & Safety, and Regulatory Compliance is highly advantageous.
• Be a commercially astute people manager, with demonstrated experience in your field;
• Bring ideas and initiative to the table and drive growth in your venue;
• Be truly passionate about leading and developing a team, and well connected to your industry.
