Job summary

Piper Moss Constructions in Sydney is seeking someone to run its new labour hire arm, turning a live service page and a small internal pool into a fully operating placements business.

You will own the division end-to-end, recruit carpenters and trades, match workers to jobs, and manage rosters, ensuring timely payroll and client invoicing. This role emphasizes compliance with NSW WHS, building strong relationships with builders and site managers, and defending profitable charge rates.

Qualifications

• Experience in labour hire, recruitment, or construction operations.
• Able to handle early-morning calls with site managers.
• Understanding NSW construction compliance and WHS.
• Organised and adaptable to changing plans.
• Current driver licence.

Responsibilities

• Own the division end-to-end: client accounts, worker pool, placements and margin
• Recruit, interview and reference check carpenters, labourers, apprentices and formworkers
• Match workers to jobs, hold the roster, and cover the no-shows before the client notices
• Build and keep relationships with builders and site managers across Sydney
• Run compliance: white cards, trade licences, site inductions, SWMS, right to work
• Move timesheets through to payroll and on to client invoicing
• Meet our work health and safety obligations on every site we place into
• Set and defend charge rates so every placement clears what it costs us

Job description

We are standing up a labour hire arm inside a licensed building company and we are looking for one person to run it. You would take the division from where it is now, a live service page, a small pool of our own tradespeople and early enquiries from builders, and turn it into a running book of placements.

Piper Moss was founded in 2016, backed by Stephen's 40 years in the trade. The labour hire arm is new. The backing is not.

What you would do

• Own the division end to end: client accounts, worker pool, placements and margin

What you need

• You can hold your own on the phone with a site manager at 6am
• A working grasp of NSW construction compliance and WHS
• Organised when the plan changes on the morning of
• Current driver licence
