Sydney Metro Decking is seeking a reliable Labourer to support our team across multiple job sites. You’ll handle general labouring, material handling, deliveries and site organisation as you grow into more skilled tasks.

Responsibilities

• General labouring and assisting tradespeople across multiple job sites.
• Loading, unloading and moving materials, tools and equipment.
• Collecting and delivering materials using the company truck.
• Assisting with site setup, footings and excavation prep.
• Site cleanup, keeping work areas tidy and safe throughout the day.
• Helping with warehouse organisation and stocktake.
• When tasks are completed, learn basic trades skills with potential to progress.

Job description

Sydney Metro Decking is looking for a reliable, hands-on Labourer to support our team across multiple job sites. You'll take care of general labouring, material handling, deliveries and site organisation.

This isn't just a labouring role. As you gain experience, you'll get more responsibility and hands-on exposure to learn the trade and build practical skills. We want someone who's eager to eventually do more than labouring and acquire more specialised skills. This role is ideal for someone wanting to grow and develop their career.

You'll be provided with a small truck and fuel reimbursements

What you'll be doing

• General labouring and assisting tradespeople across multiple job sites
• Loading, unloading and moving materials, tools and equipment
• Collecting and delivering materials using the company truck
• Assisting with site setup, footings and excavation prep
• Site cleanup, keeping work areas tidy and safe throughout the day, rubbish removal.
• Helping with warehouse organisation and stocktake
• When priority tasks are completed, you'll learn the skills of the trade from qualified carpenters, with the expectation to eventually complete more difficult tasks independently (and pay will reflect this).

About you

• A strong work ethic and willingness to get stuck in.
• Ability to work independently once given a task.
• Enjoy looking for ways to improve systems and processes to improve site productivity.
• Proactive, checks in with what the teams need.
• Able to drive a manual and valid driver's licence (you'll be using a company truck)
• Willing to progressively build a basic personal tool kit over your first 4 months (drill, impact driver, circular saw, tape measure, levels, basic hand tools, PPE)
• Minimum 1 year experience in the trade industry - labouring preffered. This role is designed as an entry point into the trade, with genuine opportunity to develop your skills over time
