Job summary

Amida Recruitment in Sydney is seeking an experienced Operations Manager with Business Development strengths to lead delivery across civil, defence, fuel and energy projects.

Based at head office, you will manage multidisciplinary teams, drive continuous improvement, oversee budgets, forecasting and contract management, and lead bid and pre-contract activities to secure new work while ensuring safety, schedule and profit.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
• Senior experience delivering complex construction projects.
• Strong business development experience essential for growth.
• Experience with budgets, forecasting, cost control and contract management.
• Proven ability to lead high-performing teams and manage stakeholders.
• Excellent planning, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
• Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Manage an existing portfolio of works and grow it further.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams in delivering brownfield and greenfield construction projects from inception to completion.
• Drive continuous improvements across project delivery processes and performance.
• Oversee project financial performance, including reporting, WIP, forecasting and cost control.
• Strengthen client relationships, identify growth opportunities and drive sustainable business performance.
• Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors, consultants and internal stakeholders.
• Lead bid and pre-contract activities, including tender preparation and contract negotiations.
• Identify and manage project risks to ensure safety, schedule and budget.
