Job summary

Amida Recruitment is seeking an experienced Operations Manager with strong business development capabilities to lead project delivery across civil, defence, fuel and energy sectors in Sydney. Based in the head office, you will drive safe, efficient and profitable outcomes while growing the portfolio and securing new opportunities.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams through brownfield and greenfield projects from concept to completion, with focus on planning, forecasting, and stakeholder

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• Experience in senior construction, operations or project management delivering complex projects.
• Strong business development experience is essential for this role.
• Great commercial acumen with budgets, forecasting, cost control and contract management.

Responsibilities

• Manage an existing portfolio of works and grow it further.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams in successful delivery of complex brownfield and greenfield projects from inception to completion.
• Implement and drive continuous improvements across project delivery processes, systems and performance.
• Maintain oversight of project financial performance, including reporting, WIP, forecasting and cost control.
• Strengthen client relationships, identify growth opportunities and drive sustainable business and financial performance.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, consultants and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
• Lead bid and pre-contract functions, including tender preparation, contract negotiations and project mobilisation.
• Proactively identify and manage project risks, ensuring works are delivered safely, on schedule and within budget.

Market leading tier 2 head contractor with a great reputation Running a circa $10m to $20m division and have the ability to business development Operations Management will be circa 80% and Business Development circa 20% of the role Work will be across civil, fuel, defence, remedial and energy sectors Join a growing business delivering complex projects across civil, defence, fuel and energy sectors, with the opportunity to lead operations, drive business growth and deliver successful project outcomes. Our client is seeking an experienced Operations Manager that also has a Business Development Manager skillset to lead project delivery and operational performance across Sydney as well as grow the business. Based in the Head office, you will drive safe, efficient and profitable outcomes across a diverse portfolio of projects within civil, defence, fuel and energy sectors, while supporting the continued growth of the business. You will lead multidisciplinary teams delivering complex brownfield and greenfield construction projects from concept through to completion, while driving continuous improvement across project delivery systems, processes and performance. You will need to demonstrate strong commercial acumen, leadership and stakeholder management skills, alongside experience in project financials, forecasting, cost control and contract management. The role will also involve overseeing bid and pre-contract activities, including tender submissions, contract negotiations and project mobilisation, while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget. The successful candidate must have strong business development skills, with a proven track record of securing new projects and building long-term client relationships.
