Job summary

Better Medical, a leading doctor-led general practice operator in Australia, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee a portfolio of 9 General Practice clinics across Victoria. You will partner with Practice Managers, lead multi-site operational initiatives, and balance profitability with high-quality patient care.

In this role, you will drive workforce capability, governance and continuous improvement, while shaping regional strategy and growth across the network.

We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to lead a portfolio of 9 General Practice clinics across Victoria.

Reporting to the Business Operations Manager, this is an important leadership role responsible for partnering with Practice Managers to deliver operational excellence, financial performance, workforce capability and outstanding patient experiences. This is an opportunity to influence strategy, develop leaders and drive meaningful business outcomes across an established and growing network.

About the Role

As Operations Manager, you'll have responsibility for a portfolio of 9 General Practice clinics across Victoria.

You'll work closely with Practice Managers, GPs and Support Office teams to improve business performance while ensuring every clinic delivers safe, efficient and patient-centred care.

Success in this role comes from balancing commercial outcomes with people leadership building capable teams, improving profitability and identifying opportunities for sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

Lead High Performing Clinics.

Coach, mentor and develop Practice Managers to become confident business leaders.

Build a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.

Support workforce capability, succession planning and leadership development.

Foster strong engagement across clinic teams and healthcare professionals.

Drive Business Performance

Deliver financial performance across your clinic portfolio.

Improve profitability through effective labour management, revenue growth and operational efficiencies.

Monitor and analyse key performance indicators.

Develop operational improvement plans and support clinics to achieve strategic objectives.

Operational Excellence

Ensure clinics operate safely, efficiently and in line with regulatory requirements.

Lead operational improvement initiatives across the region.

Drive consistency through governance, compliance and best practice.

Identify operational risks and implement practical solutions.

GP Growth & Workforce Planning

Partner with GP Engagement to support GP recruitment, onboarding and retention.

Identify opportunities to expand services and improve access for patients.

Support growth initiatives aligned with regional strategy.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams across the organisation to deliver strategic priorities, improve business performance and ensure operational excellence across your portfolio of clinics.

About You

You'll be an experienced operational leader who enjoys improving businesses, developing people and creating high-performing teams.

You'll bring:

Tertiary qualifications in Business, Health Management or a related discipline (desirable).

Experience within General Practice or Primary Healthcare will be highly regarded.
