Job summary

SA Health SA Pathology in Adelaide is seeking an Operational Services Officer to support the delivery of efficient laboratory services. You will collaborate with medical, scientific, technical, operational and administrative staff and be a reliable contact for clients and stakeholders.

You will sort and accession specimens, accurately enter data, and assist with preparation, storage and transport of specimens, under general supervision.

Qualifications

• Reliable, detail-focused and customer-oriented professional who can work with limited supervision in a busy laboratory environment.
• Strong organizational and communication skills with a commitment to quality and safety, able to stay calm under deadlines.
• Laboratory experience in pathology with understanding of specimen handling and information flow.

Key responsibilities

• As an Operational Services Officer, you’ll play an important role in supporting the delivery of effective and efficient laboratory services at SA Pathology.


• Working under general direction, you’ll use your practical skills and knowledge to sort and accession specimens in accordance with established protocols, accurately enter data, and assist with the preparation, storage and transport of specimens.


• You’ll also be a valued point of contact for both internal and external customers, responding to enquiries about specimens, testing and results in a professional, helpful and respectful manner.


• With no direct reports, you’ll be part of a supportive team where your contribution matters and where your communication skills, initiative and commitment to excellent service will make a genuine difference.
