Job summary

Ethos BeathChapman is recruiting on behalf of a client, a prominent General Insurer, to appoint an Operational Risk Manager. This role sits in the second line of defence and will strengthen operational risk practices and risk culture across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Strong general insurance operational risk background.
• Knowledge of APRA CPS 220 and CPS 230 and related regulatory frameworks.
• Ability to translate complex risk issues into clear, actionable guidance.
• Proactive, solutions-focused mindset with high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Embed and evolve the operational risk management framework.
• Partner with the business to provide pragmatic risk guidance for decision-making.
• Review and challenge first line risk activity to identify emerging and systemic risks.
• Support major transformation initiatives and third-party risk oversight.
• Drive improvements across operational risk areas such as business continuity, fraud and people risk.
• Contribute to Board and Committee reporting, policies and training.
• Help uplift and embed a strong, proactive risk culture.
