Job summary
AngloGold Ashanti Australia seeks a Director Open Pit Mining to lead Life-of-Mine open pit planning and drive value across the Australia Region. You will coordinate robust mine planning, cost alignment, and stakeholder engagement, while guiding continuous improvement efforts.
Based in Perth with regular site travel, the role requires a mining degree and 15+ years in open pit gold mining, plus strong financial analysis and risk management capabilities.
Qualifications
- Degree in a mining-related discipline.
- 15+ years in open pit mining.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Experience with mining packages is essential.
- Familiarity with Vulcan, Surpac, Whittle, Alastri, MineMax is desirable.
Responsibilities
- Lead development of Life-of-Mine (LOM) Open Pit asset strategies and optimise the Australia Region portfolio.
- Drive value creation and continuous improvement across planning activity.
- Ensure alignment between physicals and cost profiles and assess scenarios with value metrics.
- Develop systems and processes to support Open Pit Planning.
- Build organisational capability within the Australia Business Unit and provide expert Open Pit mining support.
