Job summary

Queensland Rail is seeking an Operations Support Officer in Bundaberg to help run the Onboard and Station Customer Service depot. The role supports the Operations Co‑Ordinator with operational coordination, staff supervision and administrative tasks.

This permanent full-time position is based in Bundaberg and involves a rotating roster to cover early starts, late finishes, overnights, weekends and public holidays.

Qualifications

• Strong organisational, negotiation, problem-solving and communication skills in a fast-paced and agile environment.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel (basic formulas).
• Experience with cash handling and basic accounting procedures.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and customer service to ensure a positive experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate shunts, platform allocations and vizirail train wires for efficient operations.
• Coordinate provisioning of food and beverages on trains, ensuring items meet quality standards.
• Supervise onboard staff, provide trip reports and arrange replacements as rostered.
• Assist Operations Coordinator with supervision of platform activities to ensure safety and on-time running of services.
• Enter financial data and prepare reports, including reconciliations and cash handling where applicable.
