Job summary

Drillcut is seeking a skilled Workshop Fabricator to join our Broadmeadows facility in Victoria. This full-time, on-site role involves manufacturing, assembling and welding components to precise specifications.

You will read technical drawings, operate workshop machinery, and maintain high safety standards. The successful candidate will contribute to quality workmanship and the timely delivery of projects within our growing team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a fabricator, welder or boilermaker in a workshop/manufacturing setting.
• Competent in MIG, TIG and stick welding techniques.
• Able to read/interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Familiar with fabrication tools and workshop machinery.
• Strong health and safety awareness in welding/fabrication.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Experience with CNC machinery or CAD is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, assemble and weld metal components using welding techniques and equipment.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work specifications.
• Operate workshop machinery safely and efficiently (cutting, bending, grinding).
• Conduct quality inspections and measurements to meet tolerances and standards.
• Prepare materials for welding (cleaning, positioning, clamping).
• Maintain a clean, safe workshop environment and follow health and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely project completion.
• Report equipment faults or maintenance issues promptly.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in the fabrication workshop.
