Responsibilities include reading drawings, selecting materials, cutting, shaping, joining and finishing welded products while maintaining safety and precision on the job site in Australia.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of welding or metal fabrication experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Practical experience using welding equipment, cutting machinery and fabrication tools.
• Knowledge of metal preparation, forming, joining and finishing processes.
• Ability to inspect welds and maintain consistent workmanship.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, plans and specifications to determine materials, dimensions and job requirements.
• Select suitable metal stock and prepare materials for fabrication and welding.
• Cut metal sections using hand tools and flame-cutting equipment.
• Shape and bend metal components using manual and powered tools and heat where required.
• Measure, position and align components before joining using appropriate tools.
• Join metal components using welding methods and mechanical fastening techniques.
• Check welds for bead width, penetration and dimensional accuracy.
• Finish fabricated products by cleaning, polishing and filing surfaces.
