Job summary

Laser Wizard Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled metal fabricator in Sydney to perform sheet metal and welding tasks. You will read blueprints, select and prepare materials, and shape metal components using bending, grinding, and drilling techniques.

Responsibilities include operating MIG/TIG/arc welding equipment, inspecting parts for quality, and collaborating with the design team to meet project requirements. Safety and equipment maintenance are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Experience in both structural and precision sheet metal work is essential.
• Minimum 3-5 years of sheet metal and welding experience required.
• Trade certificate in welding or related field required.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
• Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
• Australian citizenship or permanent residency required.

Responsibilities

• Reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements.
• Selecting and preparing materials, tools, and equipment for fabrication and welding processes.
• Dressing, cutting, shaping, and forming metal components using various techniques such as bending, grinding and drilling.
• Operating welding equipment and performing welding techniques (MIG, TIG, or arc) to join metal parts per specifications.
• Ensuring quality by inspecting and measuring components against specifications.
• Conducting repairs or modifications to existing metal structures or components as needed.
• Following safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
• Collaborating with managers, designers, or team members to meet project requirements.
• Maintaining and cleaning welding equipment and tools to ensure proper functioning.
