Job summary

Placed.au is seeking a full-time Metal Fabricator in Kialla, Victoria, responsible for fabrication, assembly and welding of metal components. The role includes operating machinery, reading blueprints, selecting stock, and ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

You will weld using MIG, TIG and stick methods, inspect welds, and use CNC laser cutting machines to shape components. A Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade or 3+ years’ experience is required.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade or equivalent, or 3+ years relevant experience.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Metal Fabricator or similar welding role.
• Proven experience in metal fabrication and welding; proficiency with welding equipment.

Responsibilities

• Analyse blueprints, drawings, and specifications to understand job requirements.
• Operate CNC laser cutting machines to cut and shape metal components.
• Join metal sections using MIG, TIG, and stick welding; ensure weld quality.
• Inspect welds to specifications and make adjustments.
• Ensure finished products meet quality, safety, and surface finish standards.
• Adhere to company policies and participate in continuous improvement.
