Job summary

Dell Technologies is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join our Melbourne/Perth team, delivering on-site support and ensuring high customer satisfaction through technical expertise and professionalism.

You will install, configure, troubleshoot, and repair multi-vendor systems, collaborate with designers, solution managers and sales specialists, and travel across Australia to support customers on short notice.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in IT or related field.
• 1–3 years in technical support or field engineering.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to interpret system logs and performance data.
• Clear verbal and written communication with a customer-first mindset.
• Willing to travel across Australia on short notice.
• Flexibility for overtime and on-call responsibilities.
• Ability to lift and move equipment up to 22 kg.
• Dell hardware knowledge and data center experience.
• Dell Proven Professional Certification (Storage Foundation) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver on-site technical support with rapid recovery and minimal downtime.
• Resolve customer issues using technical support expertise.
• Coordinate with onsite teams for parts delivery and equipment pickup.
• Collaborate with peers, remote support and SMEs to resolve issues.
• Use troubleshooting tools and logs to identify effective resolutions.
• Perform proactive and reactive maintenance per procedures.
• Ensure safety, quality, and documentation guidelines during interventions.
• Coordinate with logistics for rapid parts delivery during outages.
