Job summary

Configure Tech in Melbourne, VIC is seeking an Information Technology Field Engineer for a temporary, on-site assignment. You will visit client locations to install, configure, and maintain IT hardware and software including workstations, servers, and network devices.

You will perform network surveys, provide day-to-day troubleshooting, and ensure equipment is correctly racked, stacked, and documented, with adherence to safety and disposal of obsolete equipment.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Information Technology, with practical experience in field‑based IT support or similar roles.
• Skills in Network Administration and related network configuration, monitoring, and maintenance tasks.
• Technical Support and Troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues efficiently.
• Experience with Printer Support and peripheral device setup, maintenance, and issue resolution.
• Ability to work on-site at client locations, including handling, installing, and securely disposing of IT equipment.
• Solid understanding of common operating systems (e.g., Windows, macOS) and basic server or cloud environments.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer‑focused approach and ability to work independently or in small teams.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar) and a valid driver’s license are beneficial.
