Job summary

BGIS, Government Justice Client is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee day-to-day operations at a major justice precinct in the Sydney CBD. You will be embedded on-site, liaise with judiciary and court staff, and ensure safety, compliance and smooth operation of the building.

The ideal candidate has a trade background, is comfortable with technology, and can explain complex concepts clearly while building trusted relationships with client teams and BGIS management.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in mechanical or electrical trades.
• Experience delivering integrated facilities, property or maintenance services.
• Experience managing large-scale maintenance programs and subcontractors.
• Knowledge of legislative and statutory requirements for maintenance.
• Sound budgeting and cost management.
• Experience with QA, WHS and environmental systems.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, Outlook and CMMS.
• Excellent communication with senior client stakeholders.
• Experience in justice/government environments.

Responsibilities

• Look after delivery of the Services Agreement and KPIs.
• Plan and coordinate planned and reactive maintenance using the CMMS.
• Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers, including WHS compliance.
• Manage contract financials: budgets, invoices, cost control.
• Prepare and obtain approvals for variations and additional works.
• Build trusted client relationships at all levels.
• Prepare monthly reports and lead client meetings.
• Review maintenance for value for money and lifecycle outcomes.
• Support WHS, quality and environmental requirements.
• Suggest practical improvements and new ways of working with the client.
