Job summary

ICON Engineering Pty Ltd is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer for Rig Mods & Equipment to drive domestic and international opportunities. You will combine engineering credibility with commercial acumen to guide clients through technical detail, build relationships, and steer tenders from initial briefing to contract award.

You’ll work across ICON’s Rig Mods and Equipment lines, manage bids, cost estimates, and negotiation strategies, and travel as required to develop key client partnerships in

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Civil/Structural or Mechanical/Mechatronic, or MBA.
• Strong knowledge of offshore oil & gas industry and MODU operations.
• Experience in sales, cost estimating, proposals and tender submissions.
• Proven track record in business development and client/sub-contractor relationships.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain client relationships across ICON’s Rig Mods and Equipment, locally and internationally.
• Understand ICON’s products, technical advantages, and convey them clearly to clients.
• Identify, track, and advance opportunities through CRM and BD System with clear next actions.
• Prepare tenders, cost estimates, and commercial proposals while preserving gross margins.
• Develop bid strategies to strengthen ICON’s competitive position on tenders.
• Review and negotiate contracts and purchase orders through handover to delivery teams.
• Engage with clients to understand challenges and identify new or improved solutions.
• Support project managers in developing customer relationships and repeat business.
• Contribute to ICON’s sales/marketing strategy with Growth Function and partnerships.
