Job summary

Altrad is seeking an experienced Chef Manager to lead the offshore kitchen, catering and domestic operations on a remote facility off Karratha, WA. You will manage a busy commercial kitchen, drive food safety, and lead a team to deliver high-quality dining for personnel offshore.

The role requires 5+ years in food preparation and kitchen management, with relevant hospitality certificates. Offshore or mining camp experience is advantageous and strong leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in food preparation.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience managing a commercial kitchen.
• Certificate III in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery)
• Certificate IV in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) desirable
• Offshore or mining camp experience advantageous
• Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene and HSE requirements
• Experience with stock control, ordering and catering systems
• Strong leadership, communication and people management skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
• Ability to participate in emergency response drills

Responsibilities

• Lead offshore kitchen, catering and domestic operations.
• Oversee menu planning, food preparation and stock control.
• Ensure high standards of food safety, hygiene and HSE compliance.
• Manage a team of kitchen and domestic staff; provide training and development.
• Support emergency management as part of the Emergency Management Team.
• Collaborate with offshore operations to deliver quality dining for personnel.
• Maintain compliance with offshore site procedures and regulations.
