Job summary

Macmahon is seeking a Payroll Officer to support accurate payroll outcomes across the business, working with a collaborative team. You will engage with stakeholders to help ensure a positive experience for people and projects.

Based at Macmahon Head Office in Perth, you’ll interpret awards, manage end-to-end payroll, and contribute to compliance. The roster is 5:2 or a part-time option (minimum of 3 days a week) with a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• A minimum of two year’s payroll experience within the mining or a similar industry.
• Excellent numeracy skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Experience using payroll systems – Chris21 desirable but not mandatory.
• Strong working knowledge of the MS suite.
• Commitment to teamwork and delivery of high-quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end payroll processing in accordance with legislative requirements and internal policies.
• Ensuring salary disbursements are accurate and delivered within required timeframes.
• Managing overpayments, recoveries leave administration and payroll reporting.
• Interpreting awards, enterprise agreements, and relevant legislation.
• Supporting audits, reconciliations, and payroll related queries.
• Identifying and implementing opportunities to improve payroll processed and procedures.

About the Role

What You’ll Bring

• Roster: 5:2/Monday to Friday or Part-time (minimum of 3 days a week) may be considered.
