Office-Based Field Service Coordinator — Heavy Equipment

Job summary

Hoban in Sydney is seeking an experienced heavy-equipment technician to move into a Field Service Coordinator role. You will coordinate servicing, breakdowns, repairs and warranty work for mobile earthmoving and construction equipment, acting as the first point of contact for service inquiries.

You’ll oversee about six technicians, allocate work by priority and location, monitor work in progress and handle invoices and warranty claims while keeping customers informed throughout the repair

Qualifications

• Experience as a Service Coordinator, Field Service Coordinator, Workshop Controller, Leading Hand or senior technician.
• Trade background in mobile plant, heavy vehicle, earthmoving or industrial mechanics.
• Strong knowledge of civil construction and earthmoving machinery.
• Experience coordinating field technicians and allocating breakdown and repair work.
• Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capability.
• Experience with warranty claims and OEM or dealership processes.
• Understanding of invoicing, job costing and work-in-progress management.

Responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for service-related customer enquiries
• Coordinate servicing, breakdowns, repairs and preventative maintenance
• Allocate work to approximately six workshop and field-service technicians
• Prioritise urgent breakdowns and adjust schedules as operational requirements change
• Provide technical support and assist with machinery fault diagnosis
• Open, monitor and close workshop and field-service jobs
• Prepare purchase orders, job documentation, invoices and service reports
• Monitor work in progress, technician utilisation, job costs and completion timeframes
• Prepare and submit warranty claims in accordance with OEM and dealership requirements
