Job summary

Hoban Recruitment is seeking an experienced Technician or Service Coordinator with strong knowledge of civil construction and earthmoving equipment to coordinate servicing, breakdowns, repairs and warranty work across field and workshop operations in Acacia Ridge, Brisbane.

You will coordinate daily field service operations, allocate technicians, prioritise urgent breakdowns and keep customers informed while ensuring jobs progress safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Mobile Plant or Earthmoving is required.
• At least five years of post-trade experience within earthmoving industry.

About the Role

You’ll coordinate daily field service operations and support workshop workflow when required. This includes allocating technicians, prioritising urgent breakdowns, keeping customers informed and ensuring jobs progress safely and efficiently.

This opportunity suits a technically capable service professional who understands civil earthmoving machinery and can effectively balance customer expectations, technician availability, warranty requirements, invoicing and work-in-progress.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate servicing, breakdowns, repairs and maintenance across field and workshop operations
• Allocate work to field-service technicians and prioritise urgent breakdowns
• Keep customers informed, provide progress updates and resolve service issues professionally
• Assist with fault diagnosis and provide technical guidance to technicians, customers and internal teams
• Open and close service jobs and manage purchase orders, job costing, invoicing and supporting documentation

Equipment Experience

Experience servicing or supporting the following equipment will be highly regarded:

• Excavators, from compact models to larger civil machines
• Wheel loaders, skid steers and compact track loaders
• Rollers and compaction equipment
• Articulated dump trucks and site dumpers
• Dozers, motor graders, crushers, screens and associated attachments

About You

• Experience with an OEM, authorised equipment dealer, plant-hire company or civil construction equipment business
• A trade qualification in Mobile Plant, Heavy Vehicle, Earthmoving or Industrial Mechanics, or an equivalent technical background
• At least five years of post-trade experience within the earthmoving industry
• Previous experience coordinating field-service technicians or leading a service or workshop team
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems, fault-finding processes and diagnostic software
• Strong communication, organisation and customer-service skills

Relevant Brands

Experience supporting Hyundai, Airman, Ammann, Rokbak or Bergmann equipment would be highly regarded. Experience with comparable brands such as Komatsu, CAT, Volvo CE, Kobelco, JCB, Kubota, Takeuchi, Case, New Holland or Bobcat is also relevant.

Hours

This position requires a minimum 40-hour working week. Standard operating hours are between 7.00 am and 5.00 pm, Monday to Friday. Flexibility and reasonable after-hours availability are required, with additional hours paid at the applicable overtime rates.
