Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services Australia is seeking a Network Operations Control Center (NOCC) Level 1/1.5 Engineer to provide proactive network monitoring and incident triage for high availability. You will perform first-level monitoring, basic diagnostics, and escalation per SOPs, while supporting L2 with deeper diagnostics.

Qualifications

Understanding of LAN/WAN, VLANs, routing, switching.
Knowledge of SNMP, ICMP, syslogs.
Familiarity with monitoring platforms (PRTG, SolarWinds).
Strong documentation and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

Monitor dashboards/alerts for device availability and performance.
Check reachability using ping/traceroute/ICMP/SNMP.
Initial incident triage and ticket logging.
Escalate issues per SOP escalation matrix.
Track incidents and update knowledge bases; communicate outages.
Review syslogs and SNMP traps; daily health checks.
Hop-by-hop tracing and read-only CLI checks.
Assist L2 with diagnostic data.
SOP-based tasks: restart SNMP polling and backups; manage changes.
Escalate complex issues to L2 and maintain updates.
