Job summary

IHG Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Night Porter to support our front desk operations in Adelaide. Your shift runs from 11:00 pm to 7:30 am, delivering warm welcomes, helping guests with luggage, transport, and concierge requests to create memorable stays.

You will work independently during night hours, maintain vigilance, and contribute to a safe, efficient hospitality environment while upholding IHG's commitment to inclusive, guest-focused service.

Qualifications

• Unrestricted driver’s license (manual) required.
• Ability to lift, pull and push large objects up to 23kg.
• Excellent communication skills to handle guest feedback and requests.
• Strong problem-solving to turn issues into positive guest experiences.
• Ability to work independently and stay alert during night shifts.
• Good literacy and basic maths and computer skills.

Your day to day

As a Night Porter, your shift will start at 11:00 pm and finish at 7:30 am.

Every day is different, but you will mostly be:

• Kicking off truly memorable guest experiences with the warmest of welcomes
• Assisting guests with luggage, organising transportation, valet parking and fulfilling a variety of other needs the guests may have
• Staying one step of our guests' needs to anticipate requests and offer tailored recommendations
• Completing other ad-hoc duties as requested to assist the front office team in fulfilling guest needs

What we need from you

• An unrestricted driver's licence (manual required)
• Ability to lift, pull and push large objects up to 23kg
• Communication skills - guests will need to come to you with concerns as well as compliments, so you'll be easy to talk to
• Your problem-solving skills will turn issues into opportunities, so every guest leaves with great memories
• Ability to work independently and remain alert during night shifts.
• Literate and tech-savvy - you'll need a good grasp of reading, writing, basic maths and computer skills
