Job summary

QT Gold Coast is seeking an experienced Night Manager to oversee overnight operations and act as the senior on duty. You will manage guest inquiries, perform night audits, and coordinate with departments to ensure a smooth transition for the next day.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent guest service, and a solid understanding of hotel systems and safety standards. Shift work includes overnights and weekends, with opportunities for career growth within EVT hotels.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Night Manager, Duty Manager, or senior Front Office role within a hotel environment.
• Strong understanding of night audit processes, financial reconciliation, and hotel systems.
• Exceptional guest service skills, with the ability to manage complex situations confidently.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a natural ability to lead and influence a team.
• High level of organisation and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, make decisions, and remain calm under pressure.
• Solid understanding of hotel operations, safety, and compliance standards.
• A proactive, hands-on approach with a strong sense of accountability.
• Flexibility to work overnight shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
• Experience with hotel PMS systems (e.g. Opera or similar) highly regarded

Responsibilities

• Oversee all hotel operations during the overnight shift, ensuring a seamless guest experience
• Act as the senior manager on duty, handling guest enquiries, complaints, or incidents with professionalism
• Conduct night audit procedures, ensuring accuracy across financial reporting and system reconciliation
• Maintain a strong presence in the lobby and key guest areas, delivering personalised service
• Ensure all security, safety, and WHS procedures are followed, including incident management and reporting
• Coordinate with housekeeping and other departments to ensure readiness for the following day
• Monitor arrivals, departures, and room allocations to ensure optimal guest flow
• Lead and support the overnight team, fostering a positive, accountable, and high-performing culture
• Handle emergency situations calmly and effectively, acting as the key point of contact overnight
• Prepare and distribute relevant daily reports and handovers for senior leadership
