Job summary

Amazon Support Services Pty Ltd in Sydney is looking for a Network Development Engineer III to join the Data Center Life Cycle team. You’ll own network engineering for DC build, refresh, and turndown programs, collaborating with fabric teams to design high-level designs and ensure safe, scalable delivery.

The role emphasizes operational excellence, automation, and cross-team coordination to minimize customer impact while maintaining security and performance across AWS global infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of IP networking fundamentals and extensive experience in the application of IP protocols.
• Knowledge of network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting.
• Experience in major internet routing protocols, specifically BGP and OSPF.
• Experience with network operating systems such as Cisco IOS and Junos.
• Experience working in a Linux/Unix environment.

Responsibilities

• Own the Network Engineering functions for programs like DC Build, DC refresh and Turndown.
• Work with various network Fabric teams to design, and deliver HLDs, define process required for successful executions for these programs.
• Execute these processes in projects and coordinate impacted network and infrastructure teams to ensure project success.
• Ensure operational excellence, namely that all activities are done safely with no impact to customer traffic.
• Define and implement automation required for the programs.
