Job summary

Samaritans Newcastle is seeking a Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our Therapy and Behaviour Support team, delivering evidence-based assessments, interventions and plans for children and adults to improve quality of life.

You will work within the NDIS framework, collaborating with families and support networks to promote inclusion, trauma-informed care, and person-centred practice, while meeting child-safe standards and ensuring outcomes are measurable.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience working within the NDIS sector
• Current registration as a Behaviour Support Practitioner (Minimum Core level) under the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission
• Experience working with NDIS participants, understanding positive behaviour support, trauma-informed care, and person-centred practice
• Demonstrated ability to prioritise workloads and manage clients with complex needs
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team
• Knowledge of confidentiality principles and WHS responsibilities
