Job summary

Ultimate Security is seeking a National Patrols Manager to oversee national mobile patrol and alarm response operations. You will build and cost patrol runs, cluster sites, and optimise utilisation while delivering safe, reliable services.

You will lead patrol supervisors and officers, collaborate with rostering teams and the National Operations Centre, and manage costs, performance data and client expectations. A current driver licence and relevant security qualifications are required.

About the role

Ultimate Security is seeking an experienced National Patrols Manager with proven management experience in mobile security patrols, an intimate understanding of creating patrol runs and routes, and a demonstrated track record of improving patrol density and resource utilisation.

You will oversee national mobile patrol and alarm response operations, bringing together people, vehicles, systems and client requirements to deliver safe, reliable and commercially sound services.

We are looking for someone who understands the detail behind a successful patrol operation: how to build and cost a run, cluster sites effectively, accommodate service windows, reduce unnecessary travel and retain capacity for alarm responses.

What you will do

Create and optimise patrol runs and routes, factoring in geography, service frequency, site requirements, travel time and alarm response capacity.

Increase patrol density by grouping nearby sites, integrating new work into existing runs and identifying opportunities to expand coverage efficiently.

Improve officer and vehicle utilisation, reducing idle time and unproductive travel while maintaining safe workloads and service commitments.

Lead and develop patrol supervisors and officers, setting clear expectations for performance, accountability and service quality.

Work with rostering teams and the National Operations Centre to maintain coverage, manage exceptions and resolve service failures.

Monitor labour, overtime, fuel, fleet and subcontractor costs, taking action to improve run profitability and budget performance.

Manage client service issues with Account Managers and support tenders, pricing reviews and new contract mobilisation.

Oversee patrol safety, incident response, fleet readiness, licensing and operational compliance in partnership with the relevant teams.

Use patrol verification, GPS, dispatch and performance data to identify problems, measure results and improve operations.

What you will bring

The following experience is essential:

Proven management experience specifically in mobile security patrol operations, with responsibility for patrol teams, run performance and service delivery.

Detailed, practical knowledge of creating, costing and restructuring patrol runs and routes from the ground up.

A measurable track record of improving patrol density and officer and vehicle utilisation, with examples of the changes you implemented and the results achieved.

Experience managing dispersed teams, rosters, budgets, client expectations and operational incidents.

Strong commercial judgement, including the ability to assess route costs, available capacity and contract margins.

Confident leadership, clear communication and sound decision-making under pressure.

Working knowledge of the licensing, safety and employment requirements relevant to patrol operations.

A current driver licence and the security licences and qualifications required for operational duties undertaken.

Experience managing a national or multi-state patrol portfolio, working with subcontractors, and using Guardhouse, fleet telematics or electronic patrol verification systems will be highly regarded.

The role involves national travel and participation in agreed after-hours escalation arrangements.
