Job summary

Metcash Trading Limited is seeking a National Lease Administration Manager to oversee end-to-end property documentation across Australia and New Zealand. You will draft, review, and negotiate leases, licences, assignments and notices, partnering with Property and Legal teams to prioritise matters and drive process improvements.

This hybrid role offers 3 days in the office, flexible options, and opportunities to influence a broad portfolio while supporting independent retailers across the country.

Qualifications

• Experience in a property law, lease administration or legal role.
• Strong understanding of property and leasing legislation.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end process for property legal documentation across the national portfolio.
• Draft, review and negotiate leases, licences, assignments, notices and other property-related agreements.
• Partner with Property and Legal teams to prioritise and progress matters efficiently.
• Provide practical guidance on property and leasing matters.
• Manage legal work-in-progress to ensure timely resolution of issues.
• Review and manage external legal invoices, budgets and cost tracking.
• Conduct legal research and analyse relevant legislation and documentation.
• Drive process improvements and develop best-practice systems and documentation.

Your Role with Metcash

• Manage the end-to-end process for property legal documentation across the national portfolio.

• Experience in a similar property law, lease administration or legal role.
• Strong understanding of property and leasing legislation.
• Proven ability to draft and negotiate legal documentation.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational capability.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Commercial acumen and sound problem-solving skills.
• Experience with PEXA or other online property and conveyancing platforms is advantageous.
