Job summary

The Wagga Wagga City Library is seeking an experienced Multicultural Services Officer to co-ordinate multicultural programs, ESL and CALD resources, and develop community partnerships. The role focuses on reducing engagement barriers and ensuring equal access to library resources for all community members.

Permanent full-time position with a starting salary of AU$2,686.30 gross per fortnight, plus superannuation.

Qualifications

• Experience with culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
• Knowledge of ESL and CALD learning materials.
• Experience developing partnerships with CALD service providers.
• Strong ability to assist with computer tasks for ESL users.

Responsibilities

• Co-ordinating the Language Café program to ensure sessions run smoothly.
• Providing high-level reader advisory service on CALD and ESL materials across ages.
• Networking with CALD service providers to promote learning and inclusiveness.
• Recruiting and training new Language Café volunteers.
• Assist in circulation duties and general library operations as required.
