Job summary

Shred-X, part of the Freightways Group, is seeking an HR Driver in Townsville to deliver and collect secure destruction bins. You’ll handle varied clients, manage heavy bins, and use a handheld PDA to record tasks, while maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

• Valid HR truck licence with clean driving history.
• Experience in a physical driving role is preferred.
• Safe manual handling skills and good fitness.

• Experience using handheld devices (PDA) is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Drive a company-branded HR truck to deliver and collect secure bins and materials.
• Service diverse client base across industries, including e-waste, archive boxes, textiles and pallets.
• Safely manage bins up to 100 kg and perform daily vehicle checks.
• Record collections and tasks on a PDA device.
• Represent the company on-site with professional customer interaction.
• Follow WHS standards and client procedures.

What You’ll Do

• Drive a company-branded HR truck to deliver and collect secure destruction bins and materials.
• Service a diverse client base across various industries, including handling e-waste, archive boxes, textiles, and pallets.
• Safely manage bins weighing up to 100kg – an ideal role for someone who enjoys physical work.
• Use a PDA device to accurately record collections and service tasks.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and ensure roadworthiness and cleanliness.
• Represent Shred-X professionally on-site, ensuring top-tier customer interaction.
• Follow all company policies, WHS standards, chain of responsibility, and client-specific procedures.

What You Bring

• A valid Heavy Rigid (HR) truck license with a clean driving history.
• Previous experience in a physical driving role (e.g. freight or removalist-style work).
• Safe manual handling skills and physical fitness.
• Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player.
• Good communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
• Comfortable with using handheld devices (PDA or similar tech).
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
