About the Role

AECI is looking for skilled Mobile Processing Unit (MPU) Operators to join our growing team at Rolleston Mine. As an MPU Operator, you'll be an essential part of our operation, ensuring that explosive products are safely and efficiently loaded, transported and unloaded directly into blast holes at our customer site.

Working a 7 on / 7 off, 12hr dayshift-only roster, you will play a key role in supporting blast crews to deliver safe, reliable and efficient blasting operations and results. Upholding AECI’s Zero Harm culture and contributing positively to our workplace culture will be central to your success.

Key Responsibilities

• Safety Leadership: Champion safety on-site by ensuring all safety protocols are followed, including attending pre-shift meetings and completing personal risk assessments. Your commitment to safety will make a difference.
• Efficient MPU Operations: Operate MPUs to manufacture and deliver bulk explosive products directly into blast holes, ensuring precision and reliability in every task.
• Mentorship and Team Building: Help train and mentor AECI trainee personnel, guiding them in safe and efficient MPU operations. Your leadership will shape the future of the team.
• Equipment Maintenance: Assist with preventative maintenance, ensuring that equipment is in optimal condition and ready for the day’s tasks.
• Customer Engagement: Build strong, trust-based relationships with customers, ensuring their needs are delivered while upholding AECI’s high standards of professionalism.
• Collaborative Teamwork: Support the site blast crew and contribute to the smooth operation of all on-bench activities, creating a positive, cooperative environment for everyone.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Experience: 2+ years operating MPUs, with a solid understanding of surface coal mining legislation.
• Technical Knowledge: Expertise in pumping systems and MPU calibration.
• Commitment to Excellence: A strong work ethic, a focus on customer satisfaction and a passion for continuous improvement.
• Communication Skills: Advanced verbal and written communication, ensuring clear and concise updates and documentation.

• Current Standard 11
• Queensland Explosives Security Clearance
• HR Licence or RII Operate Heavy Rigid Vehicle
• RII Support Shot Firing Operations
• RII Store Handle and Transport Explosives
