Job summary

Platinum is seeking an experienced MPU Operator to safely load, transport and pump using mobile mixing units for precise blasting outcomes. You will report to the Shift Supervisor and collaborate with the crew to maintain operations and safety standards on-site.

The role requires open-cut mining experience, a valid Heavy Rigid license, and explosives handling credentials, with a 7:7 roster and opportunities for training and career growth within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Must have right to work in Australia without restriction.
• Previous experience operating MPU/MMU or similar equipment in open cut mining environment.
• Statement of Attainment for MPU Operating e.g. RIIBLA203E.
• Heavy Rigid (or greater) drivers' license.
• Standard 11 (or willingness to obtain).
• QLD Explosives Security Clearance Card (or ability to obtain).
• Able to pass pre-employment checks including medical, drug and alcohol and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Operate MPU trucks safely to manufacture and deliver bulk explosives to blast holes.
• Track and maintain accurate records and proactively report issues to the Shift Supervisor.
• Carry out pre-start checks and support preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Follow all safety, environmental, and compliance requirements.
• Support the wider team to achieve daily targets.

The Role

As an experienced MPU Operator, you'll be hands on with our mobile mixing units by safely loading, transporting and pumping to deliver precise blasting outcomes. You'll report to the Shift Supervisor and work closely with the rest of the crew to keep operations on track using advanced equipment in a safety-first environment.

What You'll Do

• Operating MPU trucks safely to manufacture and deliver bulk explosives to blast holes
• Track and maintain accurate records and proactively report any issues to the Shift Supervisor
• Carry out pre-start checks and support preventative maintenance on equipment
• Following all safety, environmental, and compliance requirements
• Support the wider team to achieve daily targets

What You'll Need

Must-haves:

• Right to work in Australia without restriction
• Previous experience operating MPU/MMU or similar equipment in an open cut mining environment
• Statement of Attainment for MPU Operating e.g. RIIBLA203E - Conduct Mobile Mixing of Explosives
• Heavy Rigid (or greater) drivers' license
• Standard 11 (or willingness to obtain)
• QLD Explosives Security Clearance Card (or ability to obtain)
• Able to pass pre-employment checks including medical, drug and alcohol and background checks

Nice to Have:

• Relevant RII to operate a Heavy Rigid Vehicle - RIIVEH307F
