Job summary

JAX Tyre & Auto Tweed Heads is growing, seeking a skilled Motor Mechanic to join our well-equipped, supportive workshop where quality workmanship and customer satisfaction matter. You’ll enjoy opportunities to build a long-term career with a trusted national brand.

You’ll perform logbook servicing, mechanical repairs and fault diagnostics, repairs across engines, brakes, suspension and other systems, and tyre fitting/alignment as needed.

Qualifications

• Cert III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology required.
• Minimum 4 years' experience as a qualified mechanic.
• AIS Ticket required.
• Valid driver’s licence (manual preferred).

Responsibilities

• Logbook servicing, mechanical repairs and fault diagnostics.
• Repairs across engines, brakes, suspension, steering and general mechanical systems.
• Working across multiple makes and models.
• Diagnosing faults.
• Tyre fitting and wheel alignments (as required).
• Working closely with a supportive workshop team.
• Communicating with sales staff to keep workflow efficient and inform customers.
• Maintaining high workmanship, safety and workshop standards.

What You’ll Be Doing

Every day brings something different. You’ll work across a wide range of vehicles and take pride in getting the job done right.

Your role will include:

Logbook servicing, mechanical repairs and fault diagnostics

Repairs across engines, brakes, suspension, steering and general mechanical systems

Working across multiple makes and models

Diagnosing faults

Pink Slips

Tyre Fitting and Wheel Alignments (when required)

Working closely with a supportive workshop team

Communicating with sales staff to keep workflow efficient and customers informed

Maintaining high workmanship, safety and workshop standards

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their trade and wants to be part of a team that gets things done properly.

You’ll ideally have:

Cert III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology

4 years’ experience as a qualified mechanic

Strong mechanical repair and diagnostic skills

Experience working across a variety of vehicles

Tyre Fitting and Wheel Aligning experience

AIS Ticket

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

A valid driver’s licence (can drive a manual)

A strong commitment to quality, safety and customer satisfaction
