Job summary

Glencore's Mt Owen/Glendell Operations seeks a Mining Supervisor to lead the Pit Services crew and drive safety, efficiency, and cost improvements on a Monday–Friday dayshift in the Hunter Valley region of NSW.

You will report to the Mining Superintendent – Pit Services and be responsible for maintaining a safe workplace while delivering agreed KPIs and continuous improvement across resources, schedules and contractor management.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Mining Supervisor.
  • Experience in contractor management and water management.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a Pit Services crew at Mt Owen/Glendell Operations.
  • Ensure safety regulations are followed and KPIs met.
  • Develop people and foster a positive, safe work culture.
  • Manage resources and identify cost-reduction opportunities.

Mt Owen/Glendell Operations (MGO) is an open cut mining operation which utilises truck and excavator mining methods to produce thermal and semi-soft coking coal, which is predominantly exported for power generation and use in steel production.


We are located within the Hunter Coalfields at Hebden in the Upper Hunter Valley of New South Wales.


We are seeking a highly motivated and driven Mining Supervisor to lead a Pit Services crew at MGO.


As a Mining Supervisor, you will report to the Mining Superintendent- Pit Services working a Monday to Friday dayshift roster. Leading on the frontline is one of the most important jobs in our business and comes with big responsibility. We need you to motivate, inspire and develop our people, fostering a positive and safe work culture.


The main accountabilities of this role include, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, effective resource management, identifying and implementing opportunities to reduce costs and delivering agreed KPIs whilst continually maintaining and improving a safe workplace.


Requirements


  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Mining Supervisor

  • Current NSW Open Cut Examiners Practicing Certificate (desirable)

  • Experience in contractor management, crushing and water management

  • Leadership and problem-solving skills with the ability to make informed decisions under pressure
