Job summary

Thiess seeks a Mining Superintendent for the Peak Downs project based in Moranbah. You will lead production teams to achieve safety, culture and productivity targets while mentoring Supervisors to build team effectiveness and project performance.

You will need strong leadership, planning, and staff development skills, with experience in open-cut coal operations and solid financial and contractual awareness. This is a challenging, growth-focused on-site role.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Mining Superintendent in open-cut coal operations.
• Advanced leadership skills essential; strong computer skills, financial acumen and contractual awareness.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individual and team production targets through a cooperative approach with the workforce.
• Coach and mentor Mining Supervisors for continuous improvement and personal development.
• Promote and maintain a collaborative, safe and value-driven culture within the workforce.
• Ensure planning outputs align with the technical services team to achieve required outputs.
