Job summary

SSH Mining is seeking experienced Mining Production Supervisors for an open-pit gold operation in the Leonora region. You will provide frontline leadership across load-and-haul and ancillary activities, ensuring daily mining priorities are delivered safely and efficiently.

WC: WA Supervisor’s Certificate required; 2:1 FIFO roster from Perth to Leonora; site accommodation includes private rooms, ensuite facilities, Wi‑Fi and catering.

Qualifications

• Experience as Open Pit Mining Supervisor or step-up supervisor in an Australian mining operation.
• Strong practical understanding of open-pit load-and-haul operations.
• Experience leading excavators, haul trucks and ancillary equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate Excavator, Haul Truck and Ancillary Operators across the shift.
• Conduct pre-starts, shift handovers and daily workforce and equipment allocations.
• Execute daily mining priorities in accordance with the site mine plan and production requirements.
• Monitor load-and-haul performance, material movement, dump construction and operating efficiency.
• Work closely with maintenance personnel to coordinate servicing, breakdowns and equipment availability.
• Maintain accurate shift reports, production records and operational handovers.
• Conduct workplace and pit inspections and proactively manage hazards and changing conditions.
• Maintain strong safety standards and visible field leadership across the mining team.
• Work collaboratively with site management, technical services and other contractors to maintain production continuity.

The Opportunity

SSH Mining is seeking experienced Mining Production Supervisors to support an open-pit gold operation in the Leonora region.

Working as part of the site production team, you will provide frontline leadership across load-and-haul and ancillary activities, ensuring daily mining priorities are delivered safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate Excavator, Haul Truck and Ancillary Operators across the shift.
• Conduct pre-starts, shift handovers and daily workforce and equipment allocations.
• Execute daily mining priorities in accordance with the site mine plan and production requirements.
• Monitor load-and-haul performance, material movement, dump construction and operating efficiency.
• Work closely with maintenance personnel to coordinate servicing, breakdowns and equipment availability.

About You

• Previous experience as an Open Pit Mining Supervisor or experienced Step-Up Supervisor within an Australian mining operation.
• Strong practical understanding of open-pit load-and-haul operations.
• Experience leading operators across excavators, haul trucks and ancillary equipment.
• Strong safety leadership, communication and people-management skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a client-led production environment.
• WA Supervisor’s Certificate of Competency required
• Current WA C Class Driver’s Licence.

2:1 FIFO roster from Perth Airport to the Leonora region.

Site accommodation includes private air-conditioned rooms, ensuite facilities, Wi‑Fi and catering.
