Job summary

SSH Mining seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead mobilisation, site establishment and operational-readiness for a new mining project in the Leonora region, WA.

The initial contract is about three months with a strong likelihood of extension as the project transitions into mining operations. The role requires hands-on coordination across civil works, processing infrastructure and site services to ensure on-time delivery and HSE compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering mining, construction or infrastructure projects in remote environments.
• Strong contractor management and project delivery capability.
• Experience with roads, drainage, bulk earthworks and mining infrastructure.
• Experience managing budgets, schedules, procurement and contractor performance.
• Current WA C Class Driver’s Licence; WA Supervisor/Quarry Manager qualification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead mobilisation and site establishment through commissioning and handover.
• Coordinate civil works including roads, drainage, bulk earthworks and mining infrastructure.
• Manage site access and internal haul-road upgrades for heavy mining equipment.
• Coordinate utilities, site services and supporting infrastructure.
• Oversee establishment of workshops, offices, laydown areas and other site facilities.
• Coordinate heap leach pads, civil works and processing infrastructure.
• Manage delivery and establishment of primary crushing circuits and other processing components.
• Coordinate contractors across civil, mechanical, infrastructure and processing activities.
• Manage project schedule, budget, procurement, risks and key interfaces.

SSH Mining is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the mobilisation, site establishment and operational-readiness phase of a new mining project in the Leonora region.

The initial contract is approximately three months, with a strong likelihood of extension as the project transitions into mining operations. For the right candidate with suitable mining and maintenance experience, there may be an opportunity to continue into the ongoing operational Project Manager role.

The Role

This is a practical, hands-on delivery role responsible for coordinating multiple work fronts across civil works, processing infrastructure, site facilities and operational readiness.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead project mobilisation and site establishment through to commissioning and handover.
• Coordinate civil works including roads, drainage, clearing and grubbing, bulk earthworks, pads and haulage infrastructure.
• Manage site access and internal haul-road upgrades for heavy mining and construction equipment.
• Coordinate utilities, site services and supporting infrastructure.
• Oversee establishment of workshops, offices, laydown areas and other site facilities.
• Coordinate heap leach pads, associated civil works and processing infrastructure.
• Manage delivery and establishment of primary crushing circuits and other long-lead processing components.
• Coordinate contractors and concurrent work fronts across civil, mechanical, infrastructure and processing activities.
• Manage project schedule, budget, procurement, cost control, risks and key interfaces.
• Ensure works meet approved designs, project standards and HSE requirements.
• Coordinate commissioning, operational readiness and transition into mining operations

About You

We are looking for a practical, site-focused Project Manager with experience delivering mining, construction or infrastructure projects in remote environments.

Ideally you will bring

• Demonstrated mining, infrastructure, construction or site-establishment experience.
• Strong contractor management and project delivery capability.
• Experience across roads, drainage, bulk earthworks and mining infrastructure.
• Exposure to gold processing infrastructure, crushing circuits, heap leach facilities and/or TSF works highly regarded.
• Experience managing budgets, schedules, procurement and contractor performance.
• Strong commercial acumen and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong commitment to safety and visible field leadership.
• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or similar preferred but not essential.
• Current WA C Class Driver’s Licence.
• WA Supervisor / Quarry Manager qualification highly desirable

Location & Roster

This is a blended Perth and Leonora-based role, initially involving time across both locations. We are open to discussing either a 4:3 roster or a 4:3 / 8:6 blended arrangement for the right candidate.
