Job summary

Calibre Engineering Pty Ltd in Mount Isa, QLD, is seeking a Planning Coordinator to join our mining projects and shutdowns team. You will coordinate detailed schedules, manage resources and ensure readiness for mobilisation and delivery across diverse projects.

Working with Operations Management and Project teams, you will develop timelines, monitor risks, and coordinate procurement, fleet, and workforce planning to keep work moving safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Planning Coordinator, Project Planner, Scheduler or similar.
• Demonstrated experience planning mining projects, maintenance activities and shutdowns.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Project or equivalent scheduling software.
• Experience developing project schedules, critical path programs and resource plans.
• Sound knowledge of procurement, equipment allocation and fleet coordination.
• Understanding of mining operations, project mobilisation and shutdown requirements.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
• Excellent communication, organisation and stakeholder management abilities.
• The ability to manage competing deadlines, anticipate challenges and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules.
• Coordinate planning for new projects and shutdowns.
• Set timelines, milestones, critical paths and resources.
• Monitor schedules for delays and plan risks.
• Collaborate with operations to ready projects for mobilisation.
• Coordinate procurement of materials, equipment and subcontractors.
• Ensure materials and equipment are available ahead of works.
• Plan fleet, equipment and resource allocations across projects.
• Liaise with suppliers on lead times and delivery.
• Coordinate workforce planning and mobilisation schedules.
• Identify upcoming resource requirements with Operations.
• Maintain forward planning forecasts for personnel and fleet.
• Find ways to improve resource utilisation and efficiency.
• Lead weekly planning meetings with management.
• Distribute project schedules and resource reports.
• Monitor upcoming milestones and start dates.
• Escalate scheduling conflicts before impact.
• Provide updates on readiness and priorities.
