Job summary

The University of Newcastle is seeking an Associate Lecturer in Midwifery (Teaching Intensive) for the Tamworth campus. This 0.6 FTE, 12-month fixed-term role focuses on delivering high-quality teaching for the Bachelor and Master of Midwifery programs and supporting student success.

You will collaborate across Tamworth, Callaghan and the Central Coast campuses, contribute to governance and curriculum development, and pursue scholarly activities to enhance teaching practice.

Qualifications

• Registration as a midwife with AHPRA with no restrictions
• Post-graduate qualification at master’s level or higher
• Experience in adult teaching and learning
• Recency of practice in midwifery (450 hours in past five years)

Responsibilities

• Deliver teaching for the Bachelor of Midwifery and Master of Midwifery programs.
• Support student success and retention through engaging learning experiences.
• Engage with regional health partners and clinical partners.
• Contribute to governance, curriculum development, and community engagement.
• Pursue scholarly activities to enhance teaching practice.
