Job summary

The Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong invites applications for a permanent full-time Middle Leader in the PD/H/PE faculty commencing January 28, 2027. The successful applicant will lead a team of committed professionals to advance faith formation and learning outcomes within the school.

The role supports the principal in realising the school's vision and mission, fosters a learning culture, and ensures alignment with NESA requirements and KLA course frameworks.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates knowledge of contemporary pedagogy and assessment.
• Uses data to inform teaching and improve student learning growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of PD/H/PE professionals to deliver quality teaching.
• Support the principal in implementing the school vision and mission.
• Assist leadership in the conduct and organisation of the school.

Education

PD/H/PE teaching at HSC Level

Level C Accreditation aligned to policy

NESA Accreditation at Proficient Teacher level or above

Job description

A permanent full time position commencing 28 January 2027. The successful applicant will be required to lead a team of committed professionals in the PD/H/PE faculty.

The role of Middle Leader exists to support the principal in implementing the vision and mission of the school, to support growth in faith and improvement in learning for students and assist the school leadership team in the conduct and organisation of the school.

ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA

The preferred applicant demonstrates the following criteria:

• Has a deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.
• Demonstrates a commitment to academic excellence and a sound knowledge of contemporary approaches to pedagogy including the nature of assessment and differentiated learning.
• Builds a learning culture of shared responsibility for quality teaching and student learning growth, informed by data.
• Displays an ability to lead learning and foster innovation and creativity in a collaborative environment.
• Has a comprehensive understanding of NESA requirements and a proven ability to implement effective teaching programs.
• Knowledge and understanding of requirements of all courses within the relevant KLA.

The following GENERAL CAPABILITIES are applicable to the role:

• Strong organisational skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Appropriate qualifications for teaching courses of PD/H/PE to HSC Level.
• Level C Accreditation aligned in accordance with to ‘Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead in Systemic Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Wollongong’ policy or a commitment to gain within the first contractual period.
• NESA Accreditation at Proficient Teacher level or above.
