Job summary

ZEISS in Australia/New Zealand is seeking a dynamic Product Application Sales Specialist to drive growth in the Scanning Electron Microscopy and X-ray microscopy segments. You will work with regional and global teams to define ANZ go-to-market strategies, manage opportunities from lead to contract, and provide ongoing applications support across academic and industrial markets.

The role prefers candidates based in Sydney or Melbourne, with flexibility for others in Australia.

Qualifications

• University degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Biomaterials or similar.
• Knowledge of microscopy techniques and software solutions including SEM, X-ray or light microscopy is preferred.
• Experience in Image Data Analysis.
• Sales experience with proven ability to close projects is desirable.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong presentation skills; able to present to small and large groups.
• Willingness to travel throughout ANZ and abroad when required.

Responsibilities

• Become a leading specialist in ZEISS RQS portfolio, primarily SEM and X-ray microscopy and their applications.
• Identify and understand market opportunities in ANZ in the RQS segment.
• Take direct sales responsibility for RQS within ANZ and maintain direct contact with customers/prospects.
• Meet annual order intake, revenue and profitability targets.
• Provide ongoing applications support for engineering microscopy applications, workflows and jobs-to-be-done.
• Collaborate with ZEISS support functions and demonstration centres to develop and execute pipeline development activities in ANZ.
• Establish communication to identify, qualify and engage with prospective customers.
• Understand customer needs to qualify application/instrumentation requirements and manage leads in CRM.
• Develop and close sales opportunities for the RQS portfolio in academic and industrial markets in ANZ, including solutions and pricing.
