West Coast Sheet Metal in Forrestdale, WA is seeking a skilled Metal Fabricator to join our operations team, manufacturing and assembling products for trade and retail customers. The role requires reading drawings, MIG fabrication of mild steel, ensuring quality and safety on the shop floor.

This permanent, full-time position offers a day shift from 6:00am to 2:06pm with overtime optional, and a supportive environment focused on safety and career development with benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience fabricating mild steel and galvanized products.
• Must have at least 2 years in a production environment.
• AQF Certificate III Engineering (Fabrication) required.

Responsabilités

• Manufacture goods to customer specifications.
• Interpret technical drawings and fabricate using MIG welding.
• Read and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Operate plant and equipment including overhead cranes.
• Collaborate with team members and other departments.
• Participate in training on plant and equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Adhere to safety rules to ensure a safe workplace.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Continued business growth has created an opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Metal Fabricator to join the operations team to help manufacture and assemble products for our trade and retail customer base.

THIS is a permanent, full-time opportunity working Day Shift from 6:00am - 2:06pm with overtime optional.

Location: Forrestdale, WA

Annual Salary: $76,570 - $80,000 per annum based on relevant skills and qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manufacture goods to the customers’ requirements


• Tasks include interpret technical product drawings, MIG fabricating using mild steel and silicone bronze.


• Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications


• Operate plant and mobile equipment, including overhead cranes.


• Collaborate with team members, other departments and projects


• Participate in training in the use of specific items of plant and equipment


• Maintain a clean and organised work area


• Strict adherence to our critical safety rules and contributing to a safe working environment

ABOUT YOU

• Essential - Fabricating experience of mild steel, galvanized products in both light and heavy gauges


• Essential - At least 2 years relevant experience working in a production environment


• Essential – AQF Certificate III Engineering (Fabrication)


• Commitment to producing quality products


• Ability to work independently and in a team environment


• Strong mechanical aptitude with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail


• Sound awareness of safety standards and alertness of moving parts and people


• Willingness to enhance the customer experience by working with enthusiasm, energy, and pace
