Job summary

Ability Options is seeking a Mentor in Toukley, NSW, to support customers in building confidence and pursuing employment opportunities. This max-term full-time position runs through November 2027 and offers a competitive remuneration package with salary packaging options.

We're looking for a Mentor to join our team in Toukley. This is a people-focused role where you'll support customers to build their confidence, explore opportunities and step into employment.

You don't need to have worked in employment services before. If you have great customer service skills, a positive attitude and genuinely enjoy helping people, we'd love to hear from you.

You could come from a background in retail, hospitality, administration, call centres, sales, community services or customer service. What's most important to us is your ability to connect with people, listen to their needs and support them to achieve their goals.

The role

Location: Toukley, NSW (some travel may be required across the region)

Job type: Max-Term Full-time until November 2027

Remuneration:$76,160 Package and up to $15,900 in NFP Salary Packaging

What you'll be doing

As a Mentor, you'll work closely with customers to understand what they want to achieve and help them take the next steps.

Your day-to-day work will include:

• Building positive and supportive relationships with customers
• Getting to know each customer's goals, strengths and interests
• Helping customers identify opportunities and take steps towards employment
• Providing encouragement, guidance and practical support
• Connecting with local businesses and employers to explore opportunities
• Supporting customers to prepare for work and feel confident in their abilities
• Keeping customer information and records up to date
• Working with your team and other organisations to achieve positive outcomes
• Helping create a welcoming and positive customer experience

You'll work with a diverse range of people, so every day will be different. You'll need to be comfortable having conversations with people from all walks of life, building trust and helping them work through challenges.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who:

• Enjoys helping people and providing great customer service
• Is a confident and friendly communicator
• Can build rapport and positive relationships with different people
• Is motivated, organised and comfortable working towards goals
• Has a positive and resilient attitude
• Is comfortable using computers and completing administration work
• Enjoys working as part of a team while also being able to work independently
• Is willing to learn and develop new skills
• Has a Working with Children Check and Police Check (or is willing to obtain)
• Has a current Driver's Licence (minimum P2)
• Has Comprehensive Car Insurance and Motor Vehicle Registration

Previous experience in disability, employment or community services is highly regarded, but not essential.

Experience in customer service, retail, hospitality, administration, sales, call centres, community services or similar roles will be highly regarded.
