Job summary

Gallagher Bassett in Melbourne is seeking a Mental Health Consultant on a 12-month contract to support the management of mental injury claims. You will coach, mentor, and guide health practitioners and employers on best practice recovery and return-to-work supports.

You'll work with our claims teams to influence RTW strategies, analyze trends, close gaps in expertise, and engage stakeholders to deliver safe, sustainable outcomes for injured workers across Australia.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling or related discipline.
• Proven track record in mental health management with clinical and rehabilitation exposure.
• Desirable experience in Occupational Rehabilitation, Worker's Compensation, or WHS.
• Ability to manage performance using qualitative and quantitative metrics.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder influence skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement RTW Strategy for mental injury claims.
• Trend analysis to identify risks and drive continuous improvement.
• Develop strategies to close knowledge gaps in Mental Injury Claims Management.
• Facilitate meetings with health practitioners, injured workers, and employers.
• Oversee daily activities and administrative duties related to mental injury claims.
• Collaborate with Case Managers and RTW Specialists on complex cases.
• Provide training and development support to clients on mental injury claims.
• Monitor and ensure compliance and quality in relation to claims practices.
