Job summary

Relationships Australia Queensland (RAQ) is seeking an experienced Male Group Facilitator to deliver group-based behaviour change programs for men who have used domestic and family violence. The part-time role (7 days/fortnight) focuses on accountability, safety, and culturally respectful delivery within a trauma-informed framework.

You will assess suitability, facilitate groups, and collaborate with police, courts, and Indigenous mentors to support safer relationships and community wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Empathetic and professional disposition.
• Experience supporting clients in crisis and working within DFV frameworks.
• Experience facilitating group programs and applying adult learning principles is desirable.
• Knowledge of Domestic and Family Violence Protection Act and related legislation.
• Ability to engage respectfully with clients from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong relationship-building with partner agencies and community networks.

Responsibilities

• Assess client suitability for participation in group programs and provide ongoing case management.
• Facilitate men’s behaviour change groups and deliver individual counselling in line with guidelines.
• Encourage accountability and assist clients to take responsibility for actions.
• Provide information about protection orders, legal processes and referral pathways.
• Collaborate with police, courts and community organisations to strengthen coordinated responses.
• Work with Indigenous mentors and co-facilitators to ensure culturally safe service delivery.
• Support community education programs to increase awareness and prevention of DFV.
