Job summary

The University of Western Australia invites applications for a part-time Manager, Business Development in Perth. You will lead the Hypatia project, turning research into value and real-world impact within a dynamic interdisciplinary team.

You will develop a value proposition, plan and manage administrative functions including personnel and financial activities, and shape the project’s post‑Hypatia business model. This 2‑year, 0.6 FTE appointment offers pro‑rata salary with 17% superannuation.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent competency related to business development, management, and/or financial accounting.
• Extensive relevant experience at a management level with proven management expertise, where independent, autonomous work has been conducted to achieve team goals.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organisational skills with the demonstrated ability to set priorities and to meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in a range of computing skills including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, internet and email, as well as AI co-pilot prompting.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate a value proposition for Hypatia.
• Plan, implement and manage a range of administrative functions that may include personnel, and financial management activities.
• Plan, implement, and manage a strong business model for Hypatia following the conclusion of the project.
