Job description

A well-established medical technology business is looking for an experienced HR professional to join its team in a part-time capacity. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys being close to the business and working directly with managers and employees. You'll be joining a commercially focused organisation where the pace is fast, the team is collaborative and HR needs to be practical, responsive and solutions-focused.

The key focus is on Health & Safety, employee relations, performance management, compliance and supporting the business through change. This is not a HR role heavily weighted towards people strategy, OD or L&D.

What background do you need for this role?

We're open to a range of backgrounds, including HR Generalists, Senior HR Advisors, HR Managers and HR Business Partners.

You'll ideally bring experience across:

  • Australian employment relations and HR compliance
  • Health & Safety / WHS, including policies, processes, incidents and risk
  • Employee relations and performance management
  • Supporting managers through difficult conversations and people issues
  • Change management and organisational change
  • HR policies, processes, contracts and general HR administration
  • Supporting onboarding and effective engagement of new staff

Experience working within a commercial, sales-driven or fast-paced environment would be highly valuable.

Most importantly, you'll be someone who is comfortable rolling up your sleeves. This is a role where you'll need to provide sound advice, but also be prepared to get involved and make things happen.

What sort of person are they looking for?
  • Someone pragmatic, commercially aware and confident.
  • You'll be comfortable working independently, building relationships across the business and providing advice that makes sense in the real world. You'll have the confidence to challenge managers when required, while understanding the commercial environment they are operating in.
  • You'll also be comfortable with change. The business is continuing to evolve, so this role will play an important part in helping managers and employees navigate change effectively.
  • You don't need to be a pure HR strategist. In fact, someone who prefers being close to the day-to-day business may be a better fit.
What's in it for you?
  • Part-time 0.6-0.8 FTE, with flexibility depending on experience and preference
  • Opportunity to join an established medical technology business
  • A commercially focused and collaborative team
  • A broad HR role with genuine ownership

If you're an experienced HR professional looking for a part-time role where you can make a tangible impact without being buried in corporate HR processes, we'd like to hear from you.
