Job summary

Advara HeartCare is seeking a dedicated Medical Receptionist to join our cardiology practice in Auburn. You will be the first point of contact for patients, handling calls, bookings, patient records, and billing tasks with a focus on compassionate, confidential care.

The role requires experience in medical reception or administration, strong communication skills, and proficiency with medical software. We value accuracy, teamwork, and a patient‑centred approach in a fast-paced environment.

• Previous experience in a medical reception or administrative role
• Strong multitasking and organisational skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Keen eye for detail and proficiency in medical billing and invoicing
• Experience with medical software and health track systems
• Interpersonal skills and collaborative mindset
• Knowledge of medical terminology and patient confidentiality regulations
• Proactive attitude and ability to anticipate needs in a fast-paced setting

Responsibilities

• Answering incoming calls and assisting patients with enquiries
• Greeting patients and managing front desk reception
• Booking, rescheduling and confirming appointments
• Managing emails, faxes and incoming correspondence
• Processing patient letters and other medical correspondence
• Scanning, uploading and filing documents into patient records
• Managing referrals and updating patient details
• Liaising with doctors, nurses, GPs and other healthcare providers
• Assisting with billing and Medicare-related enquiries
• Maintaining accurate patient records and keeping reception area organised
• Following up on outstanding referrals and reports
• Providing general administrative support to the practice team
• Handling patient information confidentially
• Scheduling hospital procedure bookings
